Getting started
Quote from DonP on 03/29/2020, 8:34 PMThis is the page to use to write messages back and forth between classmates. I have tried to make it simple to use. As you probably noticed, when you click on the CHS58 Forum tab on the menu, it takes you to that page on a new tab. This way, you don't loose your tab to the main website.
This the only page on the website that is password protected. This is to try to block spammers and attacks. Everyone who uses this page must register. You may either use a "login name" or an "email address". Then you must create a password you can remember. Once you have done this, you may login and leave a message at any time or read messages others have posted.
You can thank Marilyn (Zurow) Heimerdinger for the existence of this bulletin board. She perceived the need for it (as did I) and perceived that I must be the class geek who could help her. She asked me for help in setting up a Facebook chat room as a way for the class members to be able to communicate with each other. I explained that I eschew all social media in general and Facebook in particular, so I couldn't help her with that. I thought, however that I might be able to set up a bulletin board on the stjochs58 website.
As usual, I had no idea what I was doing as I was building this page. I was painfully learning on the fly as I went along. I hope I have come up with something classmates can use and enjoy.
So, enjoy,
Don

This is not good. I built this bulletin board, and if I am having trouble, the other classmates don't stand a chance.
SOLUTION: First, you need to left click on "Forum" in the blue bar at the top. This takes you to the main page. Beneath the second blue bar, on the left side there is a link that says "First Forum". Click on that. This takes you to a page that shows all the topics going and a button to click on that says "+ New Topic". Feel free to use it if you want to start a new topic.
